Private Provider Guidelines
Florida Statutes 553.791 (16)(b) states a local building official may establish, for private providers and duly authorized representatives working with that jurisdiction, a system of registration to verify compliance with the licensure requirements of paragraph (1)(n) and the insurance requirements of subsection (17). Please review the steps below and reach out to our office if you have any questions.
If electing to use a Private Provider for your project, please review your permit invoice before paying it to ensure appropriate discounts have been applied. Discounts are applied on the base permit fees only.

Important Notes:
- Owner/Applicant may request Private Provider for Inspections Only -or- Plans Review & Inspections. The City does not allow Plan Review only.
- Early Start Permits are not permitted under Private Provider.
- No work must begin on the project until a building permit is issued.
- No inspection reports shall pre-date the building permit issuance date.
