Doral Boulevard Median Landscape Improvements

The City of Doral will begin the construction of Phase 1 of the Doral Boulevard Median Landscape Improvements along Doral Boulevard between Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (HEFT) and NW 97 Avenue on June 25, 2018 with an expected duration of 6 months.

SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS: Landscaping improvements to include an irrigation system, lighting system in the median, and new landscaping improvements as per the Doral Boulevard Beautification Master Plan.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: Work will be within the median and any traffic disruption along Doral Boulevard should be minimized using approved Maintenance of Traffic plans. There are no anticipated detours and all work should be confined to closures of the inside lane during off-peak hours.

Doral Blvd Beautification

PHASE 1 IMPROVEMENTS (HEFT TO NW 97 AVE):
  • To commence on June 25, 2018
  • Project has a 6 month duration

PHASE 2 IMPROVEMENTS (NW 97 AVE TO SR 826)
  • Currently under design with an anticipated completion of early 2019

NW 82 Avenue (27 – 33 Street) Roadway Widening

The City of Doral will begin the construction of the roadway widening along NW 82 Avenue between NW 27 Street and NW 33 Street from a 3 lane to a five lane corridor in order to provide a uniform typical section and alleviate congestion in the area. The project was awarded at the January 2019 Council meeting and construction is anticipated to commence March of 2019 with an 8 Month duration.

SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS: Roadway widening of NW 82 Avenue from 3 lanes to 5 lanes as well as new lighting and drainage along the corridor.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: Traffic disruption on NW 82 Avenue and designated detour route as described in the project’s MOT plans. Motorists will be advised to follow the MOT signs or detour route.

NW 102 Avenue (66 – 74 Street) New Roadway

The City of Doral will begin the construction of a new roadway corridor along NW 102 Avenue between NW 66 Street and NW 74 Street. The project was awarded at the January 2019 Council meeting and construction is anticipated to commence March of 2019 with an 8 Month duration.

SCOPE OF IMPROVEMENTS: New roadway construction to extend NW 102 Avenue from NW 66 Street to NW 73 Street. The project will also include new lighting and drainage.

ANTICIPATED IMPACTS: The impact to traffic will be minimal as this is a new roadway connection. This project will be coordinated with the improvements the City and Miami-Dade County have programmed via a Joint Participation Agreement for the installation of traffic signals along NW 74 Street at NW 97 Avenue and NW 102 Avenue. The City’s Public Affairs Department will also be posting the project on the City’s website, provide information via Social Media, and will send e-mail blasts.

Resurfacing Projects
NW 109 Avenue from NW 27 Street to NW 30 Street

Milling and resurfacing of NW 109 Avenue between NW 27 Street and NW 30 Street to include removal new sidewalks, curb and gutter, new striping and pavement markings, and milling and resurfacing of bituminous paving.
Duration: Anticipated to be completed by March 2019

Emergency Operations Center (EOC)
Police Headquarters (6100 NW 99 Avenue)

The City of Doral will begin the construction of the new EOC that will provide a central intelligence area for the City and the response team personnel to gather critical information, coordinate response activities, and manage personnel during emergencies and catastrophic events.

Duration: Anticipated to be completed by June 2019

Canal Bank Stabilization Project

Project: Canal Bank Stabilization Program – Year 5B
Description: Canal bank stabilization through geo-web techniques of the Dressels Canal along Doral Blvd. Between NW 97 Avenue and NW 87 Avenue. Project also includes the construction of a maintenance/pedestrian/bike shared use path along the north side of the Dressels Canal between NW 97 Ave. and NW 87 Ave.
Cost: $3,197,441.20
Schedule: Anticipated Completion Date – September 2019
