The City of Doral is proud to provide direct support to its senior residents through the Golden Hearts Senior Support Grant Program, an initiative designed to help seniors facing financial challenges meet essential living expenses.

Reductions in other assistance programs have left gaps for some of the City’s most vulnerable seniors. The Golden Hearts program was created to fill those gaps, offering a one-time financial grant to eligible households to help cover everyday costs such as groceries, utilities, and other necessities.

For Fiscal Year 2025–2026, the City allocated $50,000 to the program, providing $200 grants to approximately 250 senior households. By providing this direct financial assistance, the City ensures that seniors can focus on their well-being without the added stress of unmet basic needs.

Mayor Christi Fraga said, “The City of Doral has launched the Golden Hearts Senior Support Grant Program to honor and assist the seniors who are the heart of our community. Some programs from Miami-Dade County were reduced this year, and we could not let that gap go unanswered. This program ensures that our seniors continue to feel supported and valued. While it cannot solve every challenge, it is our hope that it brings comfort and reminds our seniors how deeply they matter to our City.”

The Golden Hearts program reflects the City of Doral’s ongoing commitment to serving its residents, addressing critical needs, and fostering a caring, connected community.
