The Parks & Recreation Department’s award-winning programming, and facilities are available to the public seven days a week and most holidays, serving 500,000 patrons annually.

Facilities
The Department operates and maintains eleven parks with an abundance of amenities for every age and lifestyle including: a community center, lighted artificial sports fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, bikeways, jogging trails, exercise stations, batting cages, shaded playgrounds, dog-friendly off-leash areas and covered pavilions/picnic tables available for party rentals. The City offers clean, safe and secure facilities for adults and children to play and natural areas for everyone to enjoy.

Programming
Dedicated to grooming over 4,000 great athletes and citizens through fun-filled sports opportunities, the Department oversees thriving competitive and recreational sports leagues, tournaments and programs for children adults, and seniors of all abilities including: wellness, cultural arts and senior programming, tackle and flag football, cheerleading, soccer, baseball, basketball, field hockey, tennis, and Special Olympic sports.

Special Events
The Department plans, organizes and coordinates over 20 city-wide special and cultural events throughout the year with an estimated attendance of more than 50,000 for the series of events. Logistical support to City co-sponsored events and other City Departments is also provided. Additional event support also comes from civic groups, businesses and volunteers.

Advisory Boards
The Department serves as staff liaisons to three City Advisory Boards. The Cultural Affairs Advisory Board, Parks & Police 4 Kids and the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board are composed of Doral residents. These volunteers provide the City Council with recommendations to enhance the quality of life for our residents and contribute to the economic, social and environmental prosperity of the City.
