Important Development Services Updates

Planning a permit or inspection? Please take note of these upcoming service updates and plan accordingly:

Sept. 18–30: Building Permit invoices will not be issued while the City prepares to implement its updated fee schedule.
Oct. 1: New Building Permit and Technology Fee Schedules take effect.
Dec. 12: A scheduled permitting system upgrade may cause intermittent interruptions to online permitting services.
Dec. 14–15: Building, Public Works, and Planning & Zoning inspections will not be conducted due to citywide road closures and events.

Please plan ahead to avoid delays.

The Building Department ensures safe and compliant construction in Doral. We manage permitting, inspections, and code compliance to protect residents, businesses, and visitors while supporting responsible development.

Responsibilities

  • Issue building permits and review construction plans
  • Conduct inspections for code compliance and safety
  • Enforce local building codes and ordinances
  • Guide contractors, designers, and property owners
  • Maintain permit and inspection records
  • Answer questions about construction requirements

Alerts & Updates

  • System Notice: New interactive tool launched Today’s Inspector’s Route allowing you to track your inspection in the inspector’s route. This tool updates as inspections are completed, helping you estimate when the inspector may arrive at you work site.
  • New Permit Application: Effective Jan 1, 2025. Available in Forms → Permit Application(PDF, 2MB).
  • Batch Submittals: See Forms → Digital Files and Batch Submittals Guidance Document(PDF, 198KB). Submit by trade/discipline only; files must be flattened, unlayered, and unlocked.
  • Miami-Dade Submittals: Applicants must submit directly for County-required permits. Resources available in Forms.
  • Impact Fees: Roadway Impact Fee updates (12/31/2023).
