Inspections and Route Info

As part of the building permit process, zoning inspections will be required to determine whether the landscape and site plan has been executed according to the requirements of the approved plan.

Important to remember on your Inspection Day

  1. Inspectors typically leave the office at 8:00am to begin inspections.
  2. Inspector may be delayed due to weather or traffic conditions.
  3. Some inspections may take longer than others due to size, scope or complexity of the inspection.
  4. It is possible for an inspection to be canceled and the inspection order may change prior to 8:00am.

  6. To CANCEL an inspection, please use our CSS portal. Only contacts on the permit may schedule, reschedule or cancel inspections. Cancellations must be requested before 8:00am on the day of the inspection. Otherwise, your inspection may not be approved and may incur a reinspection fee.

Your responsibilities as the applicant/permit holder:

  1. Complete all work related to the inspection.
  2. Pay all previous re-inspection fees, if any, prior to scheduling your next inspection. *Inspections are scheduled ONLINE ONLY.
  3. The site address must be properly posted and visible from the street or right-of-way adjacent to the property.
  4. Job Copy Plans and Permit Card shall be on site at all times during inspections.
  5. Site must be secure and safe for inspector to walk the property. See OSHA and Florida Building Guidelines for more info.
  6. Provide gate code or access numbers and contact info for guarded properties.
  7. Provide all necessary documents to the inspectors required for your particular inspection.
  8. An OSHA-approved ladder must be provided, if applicable.
  9. A recorded Notice of Commencement must be posted on the job site.
