Permit Fee Utilization Report

Per Florida Statute 553.80, municipalities and counties that enforce building codes are required to report how building permit fees are utilized. Specifically, the statute states that revenue derived from building permit fees must be used "to carry out the local government's responsibilities in enforcing the Florida Building Code...or any other responsibilities pertaining to the building permitting and inspection process."

Whenever a local government adjusts its building permit fee schedule, it must update its permit fee utilization report to reflect the new fees. This page shows how Doral utilizes revenue from building permits to fulfill its statutory obligations related to the building permitting, plan review, and inspection process.
