Built on Quality of Life Enhancements and Fiscal Responsibility

The City of Doral has officially adopted its Fiscal Year 2025–2026 budget — a financial plan that continues to prioritize residents while reinforcing Doral’s long-standing reputation for fiscal discipline and community investment.

Approved by Mayor Christi Fraga and the City Council, the new budget maintains one of the lowest millage rates in Miami-Dade County, a reflection of Doral’s ongoing commitment to responsible spending, exceptional city services, and the wellbeing of its residents.

“This budget is for our residents, whose dedication, spirit, and support make Doral thrive,” said Mayor Christi Fraga. “We are making thoughtful, strategic decisions that meet today’s needs while laying the foundation for a city that will prosper tomorrow, for our children and grandchildren. It’s also important to remember that residents and businesses in Doral pay far less in city taxes than they contribute to Miami-Dade County and the School Board. Every dollar is managed with care and purpose, ensuring Doral remains a vibrant, resilient community for generations to come.”

The budget was developed through a collaborative and transparent process, incorporating feedback from residents and business owners during public workshops and hearings. Working closely with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the City demonstrated that every expenditure aligns with its goals of efficiency, transparency, and accountability.

Key investments in the FY 2025–2026 budget include:

  • Public Safety Enhancements: New police units, upgraded vehicles, and advanced smart technology such as license plate readers and state-of-the-art equipment to keep Doral safe.
  • Parks and Recreation Expansion: Increased funding for programs at the newly opened Doral Central Park and other facilities, including aquatics, youth sports, senior services, cultural arts, and special needs programming — ensuring inclusivity and wellness for all.
  • Mobility and Connectivity: Improvements to the Doral Trolley and Freebee services, new and improved bus shelters, and citywide trail expansions. Phase II of the Doral Boulevard Master Plan will also modernize public spaces with safer, more accessible, and pedestrian-friendly designs.
  • Economic and Operational Growth: Strategic sponsorships, capital projects that create recurring revenue, and a new business compliance program to strengthen oversight and financial sustainability.

The City is also investing in operational excellence through staff training, energy-efficient fleet upgrades, enhanced facilities, and new digital communication tools designed to keep residents informed and connected around the clock.

Together, these efforts ensure Doral remains a city where residents enjoy a high quality of life, strong public safety, and innovative city services — all supported by sound financial management.
