Doral Shows Love for Brazil
with Exhibit and Closing Reception

Doral, FL – The Brazilian Amazon rainforest is one of the planet’s largest and most important ecosystems; it serves as home to the people who inhabit the forest and is an invaluable resource for global climate regulation. On September 30th, 2022, the City of Doral, in collaboration with The55ProjectArts Foundation, will explore this important theme at the Doral Hearts Brazil event, presenting artistic works from Doral students, from kindergarten to high school. This cultural collaboration, now in its 4th year, was unanimously approved by Mayor and Council.

The free art exhibit will be on display for the public to experience at the Doral Government Center (1st floor), on weekdays from 8:00am- 4:00pm, from September 26th to September 30th. The closing event is also a celebration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil, featuring delicious Brazilian hors d'oeuvres, music, and more!

For the artistic implementation, The55Project invited the Brazilian artist Fernanda Frangetto, who will collaborate with the creative process and exhibition installation of the works developed by the students of Ronald Reagan Doral Senior High School, Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School, and Downtown Doral Charter Upper School.

The City of Doral truly does love Brazil, and it has been made evident by a series of great celebrations in partnership with its citizens and those of Brazilian descent for their cultural contributions to Floridians and the world. Doral Hearts Brazil will welcome the public to celebrate along with representatives from the City, the Consulate General of Brazil in Miami, the BR-USA Cultural Center, and the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce.

About the Artist:
Fernanda Frangetto is a Brazilian-born artist living in Florida, working in sculpture, installation, painting, and drawing. She studied at the University Center of Fine Arts and specialized in sculpture at the Brazilian Museum of Sculpture, both in São Paulo.

About The55Project:
The organization’s mission is to promote Brazilian visual artists and cultural projects in the United States through solo or collective exhibitions, public art projects, public programs, talks, and by creating opportunities for dialogue with local communities. The55Project takes advantage of Miami’s rich cultural diversity, building alliances with organizations that seek to educate, inspire, and motivate multicultural communities by promoting artistic influences through the visual arts.
