Doral Inaugurates New White Course Park

Doral, FL – On May 4th, exactly one year after the groundbreaking, Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez, City Council, along with Chen Moore and Associates and Waypoint Contracting, Inc., inaugurated the new Doral White Course Park with a ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling ceremony. The MIAMI Association of REALTORS also presented the City with an iconic special feature – large DORAL letters for that perfect Instagram selfie.

The park, located at 8429 NW 41st St., was constructed on the site of the former “White Course” and features a putting green and playground theme that honors Doral’s rich golf history. Other amenities include a shaded playground, outdoor fitness stations, a multi-purpose green area, fenced-off dog areas, restrooms, and pavilions. Visitors will also enjoy a boardwalk connecting this park to the Downtown Doral area. This project is part of the Doral Parks Bond projects, approved by Doral voters.

“In less than 20 years, Doral has gone from having NO parks to now having 10 of the best parks in the state,” said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “Being a part of the growth of our City’s parks system from the beginning has truly been a great honor for me and I remain committed to completing important projects like this that improve our resident’s quality of life, on time and on budget.”

The City received this land in 2016 for public recreational use as part of the Master Development Agreement for Downtown Doral South. Prior to the City receiving the park land it was the site of the former Doral Country Club’s White Course Golf Course.

The design of the park and the amenities included addresses the community’s needs as identified in the Parks System Master Plan through community surveys and several community workshops that gave residents the opportunity to provide feedback. Following that process, the Mayor and City Council unanimously agreed that the residents should decide the future of our parks. Residents ultimately decided that they wanted projects like this to continue improving their quality of life. Doral voters approved the Doral Parks Bond, November 2018, which includes Doral Central Park as well as several other high priority park improvements in the City.
