Doral Honors "Women of Legacy" in the Community

Doral, FL – On May 21st, the City of Doral honored “Women of Legacy” for their outstanding contributions and accomplishments in the community. This is an initiative of the City’s Commission on the Status of Women, with the support of Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez and City Council.

The following honorees were recognized in varying categories:

• Raissa Lopez for “Professional Leader”: A professional woman as a leader in business or entrepreneur, CEO or high-level manager of a business or industry.
   
• Yvette Tamargo for “Education”: A woman educator, administrator, or director of a public or private institution of learning who has been outstanding in the field.
   
• Karina Padilla for “Mentor/Role Model”: A woman who has made an outstanding contribution in the lives of those around her.
   
• Silvia Mendez Rueda for “Super Mom”: An exemplary mother who successfully manages a home and brings up children while also making an impact in their community.
   
• Maria de Lourdes Lorenzo for “Rising Star” (must be 21 or younger): An exceptional and outstanding young lady in the community. Can be a student at a Doral school.
   
• Lieutenant Colonel Duilia Turner for “Women in Military”: A woman who has bravely served in the U.S. Armed Forces to protect this country’s freedoms.
