for COVID-19 Medical Assistance 

Doral, FL – Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez and City Council visited the Miami Rescue Mission Clinic in Doral on Friday, October 30th to present a $5,000 donation check to the clinic on behalf of Dr. Pete Gutierrez. Dr. Gutierrez, Medical Director at Miami Rescue Mission, provided expertise and guidance to City first responders and staff during the COVID-19 public health emergency.
 
His efforts included various meetings with Doral Police to provide best practices, facilitating testing for Doral Police Officers to maintain continuity of operations and providing medical expertise to the city on how to safely reopen.  These were all crucial in helping to keep our residents, first responders and work force safe.
 
“Dr. Gutierrez and the entire team at Miami Rescue Mission Clinic are doing an outstanding job at providing very important services to those in our community that are most in need,” said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “We are very grateful for their commitment to our residents, especially during this difficult time.”

Miami Rescue Mission Clinic opened their Doral location in 2019. They brought their services to Doral due to the City’s central location and their goal to help the Venezuelan community, some of who may have financial restrictions. The clinic provides medical services not just to homeless people, but also those that are under the 200% poverty level per the State of Florida.
