Doral Central Park Earns Prestigious FGBC Gold Certification

Doral Central Park has achieved Gold-level certification through the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC), recognizing the 78-acre destination for its commitment to sustainable design, construction and environmental stewardship.

Located at 3005 NW 92nd Avenue, Doral Central Park is the first civic and recreational campus development in the City of Doral to achieve FGBC Gold Certification, setting a new benchmark for sustainable park and civic development in the community.

The project earned 161 points, significantly exceeding the 105 points required for certification. The FGBC Florida Green certification program recognizes projects that incorporate practices designed to reduce environmental impacts, promote occupant health and well-being, and improve long-term operating efficiency.

As one of Doral's signature destinations, Doral Central Park brings together a wide range of community amenities across its 78 acres, including aquatic, athletic, cultural, recreational and open-space facilities. The park was designed to serve as a lasting community asset while incorporating sustainable practices into its development.

The achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of the City of Doral, Woolpert, Delta G, the Doral Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), Kaufman Lynn and the entire project team, whose collective commitment to sustainability and excellence contributed to the park's successful certification.

According to the Florida Green Building Coalition, green building practices can provide benefits including reduced operating and maintenance costs, improved occupant health and well-being, and increased long-term value. The Gold certification adds another distinction to Doral Central Park, reinforcing the City's commitment to creating innovative, sustainable and high-quality public spaces for residents and visitors.
