Office of the City Attorney

Overview

The Office of the City Attorney serves as the chief legal advisor to the City of Doral. The Office provides legal counsel and representation to the Mayor and City Council, the City Manager, boards and committees, and all City departments. The City Attorney ensures that City actions comply with federal, state, and local laws and protects the legal interests of the City.

Responsibilities

The Office of the City Attorney is responsible for:

  • Providing legal advice to elected officials and City administration
  • Drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and agreements
  • Advising on procurement, land use, and regulatory matters
  • Representing the City in litigation and administrative proceedings
  • Ensuring compliance with public records and open meetings laws

The Office represents the City as a municipal corporation and does not provide legal advice or representation to private individuals.
