Planetary Parade at the Park

Description

Experience a rare celestial event as six planets line up across the evening sky during a Planetary Parade on February 28. Shortly after sunset, visitors may spot Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn with the naked eye, forming a graceful arc above the horizon. With binoculars or telescopes, guests can also view the distant ice giants Uranus and Neptune.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own stargazing binoculars, and will also have the opportunity to view the planets through the Frost Science Museum’s Celestron telescope, hosted on-site for guided observing. Park staff and local astronomy enthusiasts will be available to help identify the planets, answer questions, and share fascinating insights about our solar system. This all-ages event is a unique opportunity to gather under the night sky and explore our cosmic neighborhood.
