On June 5, 2015 at 6:08pm, DPD investigators observed a gray Kia Sorrento drive slowly through the LA Fitness parking lot (10055 NW 41st Street). The subjects were seen pulling the driver’s door handle of a brown BMW 3 series. One of the subjects reentered the Kia Sorrento and parked next to a Gray Honda Accord. One subject had a window breaker in his hand and attempted to gain entry to the vehicle but was unsuccessful. The subject was taken into custody and transported to TGK.

Subject was arrested on May 11th, 2015 and charged with 12 counts of Burglary to Motor Vehicles and 1 count of Grand Theft; his arrest has cleared at least 13 cases. Subject was found in possession of stolen property related to the burglaries charged.

The investigation revealed the involvement of those during the subsequent interview. The juveniles revealed to entering vehicles by checking if they were open. Both subjects are linked to five other vehicle burglaries.

Follow-up investigation revealed the subject had just been involved in a vehicle burglary a short distance away. Taken from the burglary was several thousand dollars worth of memory sticks. The property was discovered inside the white van. Witness identified the subjects at the traffic stop as the subjects that committed the burglary.

The subject was observed by Doral Officers casing the parking lot of Red Lobster with a second subject. The subjects fled in their vehicle after officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Offender La Rosa was arrested after officers discovered numerous stolen items taken in several vehicle burglaries.

The subject was observed by Crime Suppression Detectives exiting a vehicle driven by the second subject in the parking lot of LA Fitness (8181 NW 12th Street) after parking next to the victim’s vehicle. The subject opened the victim’s door, reached into the victim’s vehicle, quickly exited and re-entered the subject vehicle. The subjects fled the scene and were stopped by the Crime Suppression Detectives. Items belonging to the victim and a burglary tool were found in the subject vehicle.

The subject was driving a vehicle in the parking lot of LA Fitness (8181 NW 12th Street) in which a second subject exited after parking next to the victim’s vehicle. The second subject opened the victim’s door, reached into the victim’s vehicle, quickly exited and re-entered the subject vehicle. The subjects fled the scene and were stopped by the Crime Suppression Detectives. Items belonging to the victim and a burglary tool were found in the subject vehicle.

Mr. Ochoa was spotted during a burglary surveillance and was arrested for a Burglary to a Vehicle. He was in the company of Fernando Bustamante.

Ms. Williams was arrested for being the lookout person in a burglary in progress. Ms. Williams was the passenger in a vehicle being driven by Alexander Edward Oscar. Mr. Oscar’s vehicle was spotted by video surveillance at the Tony Romas Restaurant during a Burglary. The following week Mr. Oscar returned and he was arrested in connection with a second Motor Vehicle Burglary.

Mr. Torres was a passenger in a vehicle being driven by a co-defendant. Patrol units observed the vehicle blacked out in a field behind an apartment complex. Both subjects were smoking marijuana in the vehicle. During the arrest, officers found stolen property in the vehicle that linked both subjects to three individual burglaries.

Mr. Fraga’s vehicle was spotted in surveillance video in two separate burglaries prior to his arrest. Mr. Fraga had also pawned property that he had taken during one of those arrests. The identity of Mr. Fraga was revealed when detectives retrieved the stolen property from a pawn shop. Detectives working a burglary detail at the International Mall spotted Mr. Fraga in his vehicle driving slowly through the aisles. Mr. Fraga and his passenger were arrested based on probable cause for Vehicle Burglaries.
Criminal Arrest History: Murder, Robbery by Force, Burglary, Cocaine Possession, and Indecent Exposure and was on Parole for Murder at the time of his arrest.

The subject was spotted by Security committing a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. Security detained the subject until patrol units arrived and took him into custody.

Mr. Gomez was arrested for a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle that occurred at the Doral Country Club and was identified via video surveillance by Detectives when he allegedly used the victim’s credit cards at several local businesses.

Mr. Oscar’s vehicle was spotted by video surveillance at the Tony Romas Restaurant during a burglary. The following week Mr. Oscar returned to the Tony Romas and was spotted by detectives working a burglary surveillance. Mr. Oscar was followed to the parking lot of the Macaroni Grill where he was arrested for a second burglary committed in the presence of the detectives.
Criminal Arrest History: Trafficking Cocaine, Strong Armed Robbery, Possession of Cocaine, Grand Theft, Assault/Battery, Resist Arrest W/O Violence.

Mr. Celestin and his vehicle were identified through video surveillance at Walmart when he allegedly used a victim’s credit card that he had obtained during a burglary at the LA Fitness on NW 12th Street. Detectives working a burglary surveillance at the LA Fitness spotted Mr. Celestin and arrested him for a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle. Mr. Celestin was still in possession of property that was taken in two previous burglaries. Mr. Celestin was also wanted for Strong Arm Robbery by MDPD.
Criminal Arrest History: Stalking, Aggravated Stalking, Aggravated Assault, Unoccupied Burglary, Aggravated Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.

Detectives working a burglary surveillance spotted Mr. Tarapues and Mr. Castillo looking into vehicles. Mr. Tarapues was followed into county jurisdiction where he and Mr. Castillo were arrested for a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle which occurred in the presence of the detectives.
Criminal Arrest History: Burglary. He was out on Bond during his arrest.

Fernando Rincon

Mr. Rincon was observed looking into vehicles in the parking lot of the Red Lobster. Mr. Rincon was followed home, without actually committing a crime. A week later Mr. Rincon’s vehicle was spotted again in the parking lot of the Red Lobster, and he again was looking into vehicles. Mr. Rincon was followed to the International Mall, where he was arrested for a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle which occurred in the parking lot of the Toys R Us and in the presence of detectives.
Criminal Arrest History: 2nd Degree Arson, Possession of Cannabis, and Resist Officer without Violence.

Jose Espinosa

Mr. Espinosa’s vehicle was identified via surveillance footage in several locations where batteries where being taken from parked trucks. Detectives working a surveillance spotted the vehicle parked in a business next to several parked trucks. Mr. Espinosa was seen taking batteries from one of the trucks. Mr. Espinosa was arrested for Theft from a Motor Vehicle and subsequently charged with multiple other Thefts from Motor Vehicles.
