Miami Parrot Head Club Finds Paradise in Doral
Doral, FL – The Miami Parrot Head Club joined Doral’s Adopt-A-Street Program, pledging to care for NW 104th Ave between NW 41 St and NW 33rd St, NW 36th St and NW 37th Terrace between NW 104 Ave and NW 107 Ave. Founder of the Miami Parrot Head Club, Brenda Braley says “We chose Doral because it is an exciting place to be because of the growth and the accessibility from all the highways”.
The Miami Parrot Head Club, a non-profit organization, is a group of fans of Jimmy Buffett’s casual lifestyle and his gulf and western music who get together to do good for their community. As Brenda Braley put it, “we like to party with a purpose”; the group does a lot of charity and community service work, such as the Relay for Life, that took place in Doral, raising a total of over $39,000 to help find a cure for cancer.
The Miami Parrot Head Club will remove litter at least four times a year on their adopted highway, while the Doral Public Works Department will provide permanent “Adopt-a-Street Program” signs at the beginning and end of the adopted roadway section. Public Works will also provide safety vests, traffic control signs, and large plastic bags. This is not the first time the Miami Parrot Head Club has adopted a street, which they clean regularly.
If your group, club, team or workplace would like to adopt a street in Doral, contact our Public Works Department by phone at 305.593.6740, e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org, or go to the Adopt-A-Street Program website https://www.cityofdoral.com/all-departments/public-works/adopt-a-street-program/.
