It's 11pm...do you know where your children are?

Help us Keep Our Teens Safe

Child Curfew ImageBeginning on March 18, 2016, The Doral Police Department will be enforcing the Miami- Dade Juvenile Curfew Ordinance. This will help reduce overnight crime and provide for the care, safety and protection of juveniles and other Doral residents. Law enforcement studies have found that juvenile curfew laws were effective at reducing adverse youth health outcomes (e.g., trauma transports); juvenile crime; and victimization.

The curfew will apply from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning; and from midnight to 6:00 a.m., Friday night to Sunday morning. During these times, any person under the age of seventeen (17) will not be allowed to be any public place within Miami-Dade County either by foot or vehicle without a parent or legal guardian.

Some exceptions include:

  • Teens traveling to or from work/school without stopping.
  • Teens aiding or assisting in an emergency.
  • Teens who have written permission from a parent or guardian to run an errand.

We ask that parents and legal guardians assist us in keeping our youth safe by ensuring that their children comply with the curfew. It’s for their benefit and public safety.
