On May 1th, the City of Doral hosted a group of 50 students from John I. Smith Elementary. They enjoyed a tour of the Government Center as part of the conclusion of the Code Compliance Department’s involvement in the 2015-16 KAPOW program.
Since the beginning of the school year, two Code Compliance Officers have been visiting their assigned classrooms to educate a group of elementary school children on the significance of how their schooling relates to their potential career in the future. The final session of the program always concludes with a tour of their representatives’ place of business.
The tour also provided the children with an opportunity to see the City of Doral’s legislative process in action, as they witnessed the morning session of the council meeting as it occurred.
