Doral Allows Reopening
Additional Businesses as Part of Phase 1

Doral, FL - City of Doral Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez has signed an Emergency Order (2020-30) that allows additional non-essential businesses to reopen with strict capacity and safety rules in place, effective Monday, June 8th. The City of Doral will be following Miami-Dade County’s “New Normal Guide”. The path to re-opening Doral promotes business operation and economic recovery while maintaining focus on core safety principles.

Businesses that may begin opening on June 8th if they are ready and meet the guidelines include: banquet halls, gyms, fitness centers, summer camps, youth activities, massage studios or parlors, and tattoo parlors.

Certain guidelines will need to be observed, such as:

  • Capacity limits and social distancing
  • Use of facial covering in the facility, in public, and for certain activities
  • Proper Cleaning and disinfecting protocols

The County has outlined guidance for each business to follow. The goal is a safer environment for workers and customers. Businesses and residents are encouraged to visit miamidade.gov/newnormal to review the entire guide with full details and specifications for each industry and sector. The measures included in this guide, prepared by Miami-Dade County, have been approved by doctors and medical experts from the Florida Department of Health, Jackson Health System, U-Health, and the infectious disease experts at Florida International University and the University of Miami. The Doral Police and Code Compliance Departments will support Miami-Dade County with the education and enforcement of these measures to ensure that businesses that reopen, do so responsibly and safely.

The City will also be reopening dog-friendly park, Trails & Tails Park on Thursday, June 11th. Operating hours will be 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

As the situation continues to develop and we all work to move towards the “new normal”,  make sure you are following us on social media -- @cityofdoral (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and on the City of Doral COVID-19 webpage for announcements on possible future changes to other City operations.
