The Special Events Unit is responsible for the planning, implementation, and analysis of police services required to maintain public safety for residents and visitors who attend these special events in the City of Doral. The Special Events Unit is also responsible for making sure permit requirements are met as required for street and sidewalk closures, and demonstrations.
The Doral Police Department implements the City's law enforcement resources in support of special events, including events initiated and sponsored by external agencies as well as City sponsored/cosponsored events. The Unit will review special event situations and determine the impact on law enforcement resources. Some events are pre-planned while others are in reaction to emergency situations. Development of special event deployment plans for dealing with traffic conditions, crowd control, staffing needs, use of equipment and related crime issues all affect how police:
Pay Rate Information: Effect July 1, 2023
Officer $75.44/ hour
Sergeant $78.40/hour
Lieutenant $81.37 /hour
Captain $84.34/hour
There is a three (3) hour minimum per officer for each Extra-Duty detail assignment and a three (3) hour cancellation fee, if the Extra-Duty detail is not canceled within the three (3) hour notice.
