General Investigations Unit
The General Investigations Unit is comprised of sworn law enforcement officers, who are responsible for conducting criminal investigations within the jurisdiction of the City of Doral Police Department. Detectives, within this Unit, are trained to investigate a wide range of crimes, including robbery, assaults, sex crimes, domestic violence, theft, burglary, fraud, vandalism, juvenile offenses, and missing persons.
These detectives spend many hours following up on information, pursuing leads, conducting interviews, and solving crimes. They file cases against criminals and work in close cooperation with the State Attorney’s Office for successful prosecution. While assigned to the General Investigation Unit, detectives receive advanced training respective to their individual case assignments.
Within the General Investigation Unit, detectives are detached to different task forces working in South Florida such as: FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, FBI Major Theft/Cargo Theft Task Force and FBI Money Laundering/Narcotics Task Force.
