Police Training and Community Center

The Police Training and Community Center is responsible for developing and administering a variety of training programs. Quality training provides our sworn and non-sworn personnel with the necessary tools and knowledge to enhance their skills, abilities, and performance in completion of their duties. These crucial components are taught by specialized experts and allow our agency to provide exceptional law enforcement services to the community.

The Training Unit supervises the Field Training Program of new police officers and Public Service Aides. Additionally, the unit provides a two-week orientation training to all civilian personnel and newly promoted members. The Police Training and Community Center also offers periodic community educational programs for local businesses and residents. Our foremost program for civilians, the Citizen’s Police Academy, is an 8-week community-oriented program designed to provide residents and business owners with an insider perspective of police work and the legal system.
