The Crown Jewel of Doral Parks is Officially Open!
Doral, FL – On Saturday, August 12, 2017, the Mayor and Council proudly welcomed the residents and members of the community to the highly-anticipated, Doral Legacy Park. The ceremonial ribbon cutting and plaque unveiling was witnessed by the thousands in attendance excited to tour this state-of-the-art facility, explore the sports complex and enjoy its many amenities. The park’s grand opening consisted of a free BBQ catered by Taste of Style, games, music, sports demos and much more. There was even a special performance by Doral’s very own America’s Got Talent contestant, Angelina Green.
Once inside the 35,000 sq. ft. indoor gymnasium, the Mayor and Council took the first inaugural lap around the exercise track. To kick-off the Mayor’s “Step Up Your Health, Doral” Wellness Initiative, our partner, Baptist Health of South Florida, was on-site registering and offering free health screenings to kick off the yearlong challenge. Registrations are open for all at www.cityofdoral.com!
“I have been very passionate about this park since the first time I served as Mayor,” said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “I look forward to enjoying the park’s state-of-the-art amenities with my family and the residents as we all take part of the “Step Up Your Health, Doral” Challenge and reach our goal of becoming a City of a Billion Steps!”
The 18-acre park was strategically designed to be a place where the community enjoys sports, cultural arts, programs and fitness in a safe and family-friendly environment that is representative of the beautiful City of Doral. Doral Legacy Park, located at NW 82nd Street and 114th Avenue in Doral, is the City’s seventh park and without a doubt, the crown jewel.
