City of Doral Sandbags Announcement

Please be advised that there WILL NOT be a sandbag distribution for the public. Sandbag distributions result in residents waiting in line for long periods of time and wasting gas for a limited amount of sand bags that would not be sufficient to effectively protect a home from a significant flooding event. The lengthy distribution periods also utilize essential City employees and Police Officers that are necessary resources to complete important storm preparations around the City to ensure the community’s safety during and after the storm.

Adonel’s Concrete Sweetwater Plant (2101 NW 110 Ave.), will have sand available for residents of any City in Florida from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 31st. The plant has 1 million pounds of sand set aside. Residents must bring your own bag.

Residents are advised to not rely on sandbags to protect their homes from flooding or storm surge. We encourage preparation ensuring they have important supplies, securing windows, filling gas tanks and having an emergency plan for your family.
