Proposed Waste Fee Increase Notifications

The notification process for the Department of Solid Waste Management’s proposed $25 waste fee increase has begun.  Official “Notices of Proposed Non-Ad Valorem Assessment” are being mailed to the owners of the 340,000 properties that receive solid waste services and should’ve began to arrive in mailboxes on Thursday, July 20th and will continue until all the letters are finally mailed on July 24, 2017.

Questions about the proposed waste fee increase will be handled by 311 call specialists at  305-499-8738.

Residents can attend the public hearing on this matter on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. or they can submit written concerns, questions or objections to the proposed fee increase in writing to the department via email at  dswm@miamidade.gov or by sending letters by U.S. mail to the following address within 20 days of the notice:
