Doral Partners with Google to
Help Local Businesses Grow Online
Doral, FL - The City of Doral and Google will partner on a series of Grow with Google workshops to help Spanish-speaking entrepreneurs develop their digital skills, reach new customers and thrive online. The series will consist of four free webinars presented in Spanish by Vicente Pimienta, CEO @Digisults and Miami’s Grow with Google Digital Coach. As one of only 11 Grow with Google Digital Coaches around the country, Mr. Pimienta plays an important role in a Google Program designed to bridge the digital divide for underrepresented communities.
“Doral is home to thousands of great businesses, many of whom belong to Hispanic business owners,” stated Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “Our goal with this collaboration is to provide these businesses with the tools and knowledge for FREE, that can help them thrive, especially during the difficult economic situation that we’re currently experiencing.”
The workshops will train participants on how to use free Google tools such as Google Sheets, Google Maps and Google Ads to increase their online presence. Google’s search and advertising tools supported $385 billion of economic activity in 2019, according to Google. In Florida alone, more than 1.25 million businesses received requests for directions, phone calls, bookings, and reviews through Google last year.

The Google Digital Coaches Program was launched in 2017 to provide business education to diverse communities and provide equal opportunity for all business owners and entrepreneurs to grow and prosper online. In June 2020, Google CEO Sundar Pichai recognized the importance of the initiative and announced the expansion of the Grow with Google Digital Coaches program as part of the company’s commitment to racial equity.
