Special Needs
As part of our commitment to make Doral the greatest city in which to live, work, learn and play, the Parks & Recreation Department offers several programs that include a variety of interests from cultural arts to sports activities for children and young adults with special needs. We take great pride in the development of these programs and invite all families to visit us and explore the options that are available to them. Feel the Beat - Dance Program
In this program participants will experience a fun-filled hour of different Latin rhythms and styles, dancing and exercising. Participants will enhance coordination, flexibility, and endurance, while improving their range of motion and muscular balance. Ages: 8 and up

Dojo of Exceptional Wellness – Wellness and Martial Arts for the Special Needs and General Populations
This program is designed for the Special Needs population ages 7 and up and will set the stage to learn martial arts in the individual pursuit of wellness, education, and improvement of quality of life.

Day(s): Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time(s): 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Cost: $45 Residents $54 Non-residents for the whole month.

Mind and Melody - Genbeats for Parents and Siblings of Individuals with Special Needs
Mind&Melody, Inc. is offering a Special Drum Circle! The goal of this class taking place the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month is to create a supportive community where parenst and siblings of special needs individuals come together, learn from each other, and foster meaningful connections through the joy of drumming! Doral Sunbursts Special Olympics Program
The City of Doral Special Olympics Program is designed for athletes ages 8 and older with an intellectual disability. This program provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports such as athletics, soccer, golf, bowling, softball and basketball. The intention of this program is to reach out to the special needs population in the Doral community and provide them with continuous opportunities to develop physical fitness, friendships and memories.
