Uninsured Children to get Health Care through Doral - Miami University Plan

Doral, FL – The Doral City Council unanimously approved a proposal, championed by Councilwoman Sandra Ruiz, to partner with Miami University's Miller School of Medicine and the Children's Health Services to host a mobile pediatric clinic for Doral's uninsured residents.

The mobile clinic would make monthly outreach visits throughout the year in the vicinity of the Doral Government Center, providing pediatric healthcare to Doral's uninsured residents.

"Doral is regarded as a prosperous community, but there is an underserved community, many newly arrived immigrants, who don't have access to health care," observed Councilwoman Ruiz. "It is important that we provide health services to all children in need," she added.

The University of Miami’s Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine is the graduate medical school at the University of Miami. Founded in 1952, it is the oldest medical school in the State of Florida.
