Official Statement from Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez

“We are very proud of the brave officers from both the Doral and Miami-Dade Police Departments who heroically responded to an active shooter situation at Trump National Doral earlier this morning. Our priority is always the safety of our residents, businesses and visitors, which today was heroically protected thanks to the seamless collaboration between these law enforcement agencies. Fortunately, there were no innocent bystanders that were hurt. However, our prayers are with the Doral officer that did sustain minor injuries during the incident. We wish him a speedy recovery. Investigation is ongoing, led by Miami-Dade PD, whom we are supporting as needed.“

"Estamos muy orgullosos de los valientes oficiales de los Departamentos de Policía de Doral y Miami-Dade que respondieron a una situación de tirador activo en Trump National Doral esta mañana. Nuestra prioridad siempre es la seguridad de nuestros residentes, empresas y visitantes, que hoy fue heroicamente protegida gracias a la colaboración fluida entre estas agencias de aplicación de la ley. Afortunadamente, no hubo transeúntes inocentes que resultaron heridos. Sin embargo, nuestras oraciones están con el oficial de Doral que sufrió lesiones menores durante el incidente. Le deseamos una rápida recuperación. La investigación continúa, dirigida por el Departamento de Policía de Miami-Dade, a quien apoyamos cuando necesario."
