Notice of Violation & Emergency Action
Regarding Solare Corporation
Doral, FL – Pursuant to Section 41-81 of the City Code of Ordinances, the City of Doral served notice on Solare Corporation, located at 3655 NW 78th Avenue in Doral (“Solare”), of the City’s decision to revoke Solare’s Business Tax Receipt and Certificate of Use. Solare and Paseo De Los Artes share residence on the same property.
Solare, on its own and in connection with Paseo De Los Artes, has engaged in habitual conduct that is contrary to the public health, welfare and safety of the City and otherwise violates City, County, or state law. For more than two (2) years, Solare and Paseo de Los Artes, as well as the property owner, have failed to legalize structures and uses on their property, and they have recently been party to illegal construction work without a permit that has created serious life-safety issues.
By revoking Solare’s Business Tax Receipt and Certificate of Use, the City is taking appropriate action to safeguard business patrons that may visit the property. The City would also be revoking the Business Tax Receipt and Certificate of Use of Paseo De Los Artes, but the business was operating without either license.
In 2016, in Oakland, California, 36 people were killed when a fire broke out in a shared artist space—a warehouse that was known by the City of Oakland to have serious building violations. The City of Doral is aware of the life-safety problems on the Solare/Paseo property, and a senseless tragedy like that is not going to happen on the administration’s watch.
