The City has ten distinct Departments, each dedicated to providing the best service.
The City of Doral Building Department is responsible for the review, processing, issuance, and inspection of building permits to ensure that construction within the City complies with the provisions of the Florida Building Code, the Miami-Dade County Code of Ordinances, and any relevant City Ordinances.
|Code Compliance Department
The Code Compliance Department’s mission is to enforce the City Codes uniformly ensuring the health, safety, welfare, and quality of life for the residents and businesses of the City of Doral.
The Finance Department is the central fiscal control and accounting body of the City government. The Finance Director serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the City. The Department manages with the daily finance/accounting activities including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue collection, cash management, debt management, risk management, purchasing, and financial reporting.
The City of Doral’s Human Resources Office provides a variety of services to employees and provides direction, consultation, and assistance to all departments in regards to personnel matters. These functions include, but are not limited to: Recruitment and retention, classification, health and safety, benefits administration, and employee relations.
The IT Department is in charge of the design, implementation, and support of all the information systems that comprise the government of the City of Doral. Critically, the department is responsible for ensuring that the city’s data is protected from unauthorized modifications (data integrity) and for network security.
|Parks and Recreation
The Mission of the Parks and Recreation Department is to provide World Class Parks and Recreation Facilities, Programs and Events for People of all Ages and Abilities. The Parks and Recreation Department is divided into two Divisions: Parks Division: responsible for construction, maintenance of fields/facilities and athletics; and the Recreation Division: responsible for city-wide special/cultural events and recreational programming.
|Planning and Zoning
The Planning and Zoning Department is responsible for planning the current and future development of the City and is committed to ensuring the safe and quality development of well-planned residential and commercial neighborhoods. We seek to provide clear, timely information to the public concerning the planning and development activities within the City of Doral.
Started in 2008, the City of Doral Police Department is committed to "prevent the next crime." Through a range of crime prevention, community intervention and enforcement strategies, the Doral Police Department is working to reduce crime, increase safety, and develop proactive, long-term solutions to crime problems and challenges in our neighborhoods.
The Procurement Division is responsible for the purchase of all equipment, supplies, and services and ensuring the City’s actions are in accordance with the State of Florida statutes, City Ordinances, and NGIP Code of Ethics that govern the Procurement process.
The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of the roads, public areas and facilities, beautification projects, stormwater utility and the construction management of capital improvement projects. The Department of Public Works also manages the Doral Trolley, the Doral Stormwater Utility, and manages design and construction of capital improvement projects, property aquisition and environmental permitting.
