Statement by Doral Mayor Luigi Boria on the Passing of  Ret. General Schwarzkopf

Doral, FL - On behalf of the Doral City Council and myself, I would like to express our condolences to the family and friends of Retired General H. Norman Schwarzkopf.  As a City who hosts the U.S. Southern Command and honours the role of all members of the Armed Forces, we are thankful for the remarkable service General Schwarzkopf gave to this nation through his 35 years in the military and for his leadership in 1991 as commander of “Operation Desert Storm.”

To demonstrate our solidarity with his family and the nation, the City of Doral Government Center will fly its flags at half-staff in memory of General Schwarzkopf until Monday, December 31st.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Brenda and his three children: Cynthia, Jessica and Christian.

Luigi Boria
Mayor of Doral
