Rescheduled: New Temporary Southbound State Road (SR) 826 Ramp to SW 8 Street Opening Monday morning October 6, 2014 Drivers will need to exit one-half mile earlier
Miami — The opening of the new temporary ramp from southbound SR 826 to SW 8 Street has been postponed due to rain.  The ramp is now scheduled to open on Monday morning October 6.  Drivers on southbound SR 826 going to SW 8 Street will need to exit approximately one-half mile earlier at the same ramp currently used to access West Flagler Street.  Drivers not using the new exit will need to continue south and exit at Coral Way. This configuration is expected to be in place for approximately three to four weeks.

Note: Drivers on westbound and eastbound SR 836 must use the West Flagler Street ramps to also access SW 8 Street.
 
In order to prepare for the opening of the new ramp, the following closures will be implemented as scheduled below:
The West Flagler Street ramp to southbound SR 826 will be closed on Thursday morning, September 25 at 9:30 a.m. and reopen on Monday, September 29 at 5:30 a.m.

Westbound drivers on West Flagler Street going to southbound SR 826 can:

  • West to NW 87 Avenue
  • South to SW 8 Street
  • East to SR 826

Eastbound drivers on West Flagler Street going to southbound SR 826 can:

  • Continue east to 72 Avenue, turn south
  • Right on Tamiami Canal Road to SW 8 Street
  • West to SR 826

The southbound SR 826 ramp to West Flagler Street will be closed Saturday night, September 27 from 10 p.m. and reopen on Monday, September 29 at 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:

  • Continue south on SR 826
  • Exit at Coral Way, go east to access the northbound SR 826 ramp
  • Exit at West Flagler Street

The southbound SR 826 ramp to SW 8 Street will be closed Sunday night, September 28 from 10 p.m. and reopen on Monday, September 29 at 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:

  • Continue south on SR 826
  • Exit at Coral Way, go east to access the northbound SR 826 ramp
  • Exit at SW 8 Street

Two southbound lanes on SR 826 will be closed from SR 836 to SW 8 Street on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Please note that this schedule may change due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions. Full Eastbound Closure of NW 25 Street

All eastbound travel lanes and one westbound travel lane on NW 25 Street will be closed nightly (excluding Saturday and Sunday) until Friday, October 3 from NW 89 Court to NW 87 Avenue between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
 
Eastbound drivers on NW 25 Street can:

  • Go north on NW 89 Court
  • East on NW 27 Street
  • South on NW 87 Avenue to connect with NW 25 Street

The closures will allow the contractor work on roadway drainage. Please note that if the work is not completed due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions, the closure will occur on the following night.

NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN- New Southbound Milam Dairy Road Now Open

All new southbound Milam Dairy Road travel lanes between NW 12 Street and NW 7 Street are now open. Drivers must now go straight on Milam Dairy Road south past NW 12 Street to access the new ramps to SR 826 and SR 836 and West Flagler Street. There are now three straight thru lanes and one left turn lane at Milam Diary Road south at NW 12 Street.

All southbound travel lanes on NW 72 Avenue between NW 11 Street and NW 7 Street will be permanently closed, drivers will need to use the new southbound travel lanes on Milam Dairy Road to continue south towards West Flagler Street

The new northbound Milam Dairy Road lanes are expected to open in approximately three weeks. Please note that this schedule may change due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions. Major Transportation Project by FDOT to Start in Doral

As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s road and traffic improvements for our area, construction of the western portion of the NW 25th Street Viaduct (Elevated Bridge) project will start in June, 2012.

The purpose of the project is to conclude the viaduct (elevated bridge) that will direct truck traffic directly into Miami International Airport hence alleviating local traffic and improving the quality of life of Doral residents and visitors.

The work by FDOT will extend from SR 826 in the east to NW 89 Court in the west with adjoining improvements to NW 79 Ave, NW 82 Ave, NW 84 Ave and NW 87 Ave.

The massive project will be broken into five phases that will encompass the next four years. The first phase includes the following:

  • Phase 1A – Two months of night work to remove medians and landscaping on adjacent NW 79, 82, 84 and 87 Avenues to facilitate Maintenance of Traffic.
  • Phase 1B – 18 months of day and night work to enclose canal and build new lanes on the north side of NW 25 St. Traffic to remain on South side two lanes each direction but side streets may be narrowed to one lane each direction and majority of turn lanes will be removed.

Although Doral drivers will experience delays that will continue until 2016, every effort will be made to minimize impacts to traffic. Drivers using these streets are highly encouraged to use alternate routes such as NW 12 Street and NW 33 Street. It is also recommended to allow extra time when commuting to accommodate for traffic and other detours.
