Nighttime Full Closures of State Road (SR) 826 and NW 25 Street

MIAMI The following closures on SR 826 and NW 25 Street will be scheduled to allow the contractor to work on the viaduct bridge over SR 826:

All northbound travel lanes on SR 826 will be closed at NW 25 Street Wednesday, July 29 (Thursday, July 30 is an alternate date) between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.:

  • Drivers on northbound SR 826 will be diverted to the NW 25 Street exit ramp
  • Continue north through NW 25 Street and enter the northbound SR 826 entrance ramp

All southbound travel lanes on SR 826 will be closed at NW 25 Street on Wednesday, July 29 (Thursday, July 30 is an alternate date) between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.:

  • Drivers on southbound SR 826 will be diverted to the NW 25 Street exit ramp
  • Continue south through NW 25 Street and enter the southbound SR 826 entrance ramp

All southbound travel lanes on SR 826 will be closed at NW 36 Street on Monday, August 3 (Tuesday, August 4 is an alternate date) between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.:

  • Exit at NW 36 Street, go west on NW 36 Street
  • South on NW 79 Avenue, east on NW 25 Street to connect with the southbound SR 826 ramp

All westbound NW 25 Street travel lanes will be closed at SR 826 on Monday, August 3 (Tuesday, August 4 is an alternate date) between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.  Drivers can:

  • North on SR 826, west on NW 36 Street
  • Turn south on NW 79 Avenue to access NW 25 Street

The two left turn lanes on the northbound SR 826 exit ramp to go west on NW 25 Street will be closed on Monday, August 3 (Tuesday, August 4 is an alternate date) between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.  Drivers can:

  • Go east on NW 25 Street, turn north on NW 72 Avenue, west on NW 36 Street
  • Turn south on NW 79 Avenue to access NW 25 Street

The closures will allow the contractor to work on a bridge over the roadway. Please note that if the work is not completed due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions, the closure will occur on the following night. Nighttime Closures of NW 12 Street

Closures on NW 12 Street will be scheduled as noted below:

All travel lanes on eastbound NW 12 Street between NW 82 Avenue and Milam Dairy Road will be closed Monday, July 20 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:

  • North on NW 82 Avenue
  • East on NW 25 Street
  • South on 72 Avenue/Milam Dairy Road to connect with NW 12 Street

 All travel lanes on westbound NW 12 Street between Milam Dairy Road and NW 82 Avenue will be closed Tuesday, July 21 and Thursday, July 23 between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Drivers can:

  • South on Milam Dairy Road
  • West on NW 11 Street to westbound SR 836
  • Exit at the NW 87 Avenue/NW 12 Street exit

 The closure will allow the contractor to remove an existing bridge over the roadway. Please note that this schedule may change due to bad weather or other unforeseen conditions.

SR 826/SR 836 Interchange Project Closure Update

Lane Closure Report: Through Thursday, August 6 -The contractor for the State Road (SR) 826/SR 836 Interchange Reconstruction Project will perform the following closures:

CLOSURES ON SR 826

Through Thursday, August 6- There will be on and off single and double lane closures on southbound and northbound SR 826 from south of NW 25 Street to SW 8 Street to allow the contractor to perform roadway maintenance and construction between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. (LC 1000)

Friday, July 31- The southbound SR 826 ramp to eastbound SR 836 will be closed on Friday, July 31 between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Drivers can:

  • Continue south on SR 826, exit at SW 8 Street east exit
  • Access the northbound SR 826 entrance ramp and enter the east SR 836 ramp

Monday, August 3- All southbound travel lanes on SR 826 will be closed at NW 36 Street on Monday, August 3 (Tuesday, August 4 is an alternate date) between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.:

  • Exit at NW 36 Street, go west on NW 36 Street
  • South on NW 79 Avenue, east on NW 25 Street to connect with the southbound SR 826 ramp

CLOSURES ON SR 836

Through Thursday, August 6- There will be single and double lane closures on eastbound and westbound SR 836 from NW 87 Avenue to NW 57 Avenue to allow the contractor to perform roadway maintenance and construction between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. (1100)

Friday, July 31- The westbound SR 836 ramp to West Flagler Street/SR 826 South will be closed on Friday, July 31 between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.  Drivers can:

  • Exit at NW 87 Avenue/NW 12 Street, go west on NW 12 Street
  • South on NW 87 Avenue to West Flagler Street
  • Drivers going south on 826 can access the SR 836 east ramp from NW 87 Avenue and exit at the West Flagler Street/SR 826 South ramp

LOCAL ROAD CLOSURES

Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5 - All eastbound West Flagler Street lanes will be closed on Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5 from SW 79 Avenue to SW 77 Court between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.  Drivers can:

    • Go south on SW 79 Avenue
    • East on SW 2 Street
    • North on SW 77 Court to connect with West Flagler Street

Sunday, August 2 through Thursday, August 6 - All travel lanes on westbound and eastbound NW 12 Street between Milam Dairy Road and NW 82 Avenue will be closed Sunday, August 2 through Thursday, August 6 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Drivers can on westbound NW 12 Street can:

  • South on Milam Dairy Road
  • West on NW 11 Street to westbound SR 836
  • Exit at the NW 87 Avenue/NW 12 Street exit

Drivers on eastbound NW 12 Street can:

  • Go north on NW 82 Avenue, east on NW 25 Street
  • South on Milam Dairy Road to connect with NW 12 Street

Major Transportation Project by FDOT to Start in Doral

As part of the Florida Department of Transportation’s road and traffic improvements for our area, construction of the western portion of the NW 25th Street Viaduct (Elevated Bridge) project will start in June, 2012.

The purpose of the project is to conclude the viaduct (elevated bridge) that will direct truck traffic directly into Miami International Airport hence alleviating local traffic and improving the quality of life of Doral residents and visitors.

The work by FDOT will extend from SR 826 in the east to NW 89 Court in the west with adjoining improvements to NW 79 Ave, NW 82 Ave, NW 84 Ave and NW 87 Ave.

The massive project will be broken into five phases that will encompass the next four years. The first phase includes the following:

  • Phase 1A – Two months of night work to remove medians and landscaping on adjacent NW 79, 82, 84 and 87 Avenues to facilitate Maintenance of Traffic.
  • Phase 1B – 18 months of day and night work to enclose canal and build new lanes on the north side of NW 25 St. Traffic to remain on South side two lanes each direction but side streets may be narrowed to one lane each direction and majority of turn lanes will be removed.

Although Doral drivers will experience delays that will continue until 2016, every effort will be made to minimize impacts to traffic. Drivers using these streets are highly encouraged to use alternate routes such as NW 12 Street and NW 33 Street. It is also recommended to allow extra time when commuting to accommodate for traffic and other detours.
